"rainfall" was originally written as a poem in quarantine during the pandemic in 2021. It shares a mature teenage perspective of learning to accept change as an inevitable part of growth. 'rainfall' is a vulnerable story about some of life's biggest fears, but told in a way that highlights audrie's skill as a guitarist as well. It is the opening single from audrie jones' debut album "peachy pisces," with plans to perform and promote the full album with live sets around NYC through Spring 2023.

Guarding my memories
To keep you safe
But they are fading every day
I didn’t want our melodies to fade
So I decided to stay the same
Now the feeling behind these lines scream
"Why couldn’t you make room for me?"
But as I see myself alone
The fragments of my mind
Fall and turn to gold
But I don’t want to leave right now
When I come back will you have turned around?
But it’s too dark to see you right now
'Cause u reflect back to me all within that I can’t see
If our peace has always lied inside
Then, oh, how long will mine take to find?
Now we have so many masks on
When one speaks
I can't decide if it wants peace
But as I hear the words that they say
I know they all want love in different ways
Our perceptions are limited
To only what we experience but
We can still understand
And when you feel forsaken
Your free will still can’t be
Taken away from you
Simultaneously the petals fall off the rose
But at the same time it is blooming
And it’s thorns are the judgement that separates
But it doesn’t withhold us to communicate
But if you touch a thorn and it makes you bleed
Underneath you understand
You’re still safe
And when the rainfalls from the clouds
You can cry but will you even make a sound?
Well they might now hear what you say
So I’ll understand if you ask the whole world to stay
